    From March 26 through April 6 2018, Steve Coleman and Five Elements will present a residency in Detroit for the second time. The primary location of activities will be The Carr Center, with special events around the city.

    This is a collaboration of M-Base Concepts, Inc., and The Carr Center.

    Steve Coleman and Five Elements have presented successful residencies all around the country. These residencies are designed to generate energy in the areas where they occur, educate local musicians and introduce audiences to creative and progressive music. Steve Coleman and Five Elements is Steve Coleman a.sax, Jonathan Finlayson tpt, Kokayi vcl, Anthony Tidd bass, Sean Rickman drums.

    Steve Coleman and Five Elements: 2018 Chicago Residency

    Chicago, IL, primary location: The Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts.

    From April 10 through April 29 2018, Steve Coleman and Five Elements will return for their third Chicago residency. The primary location of activities will be the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, with special events around the city.

    From May 8 through May 13 2018, Steve Coleman and Five Elements return to The Historic Village Vanguard at 178 7th Ave South in New York City for 6 nights of creative music. After their successful 2015, 2016 and 2017 gigs at the Vanguard, for the week of May 8 2018, Steve’s group will once again bring their unique approach to creative music to the historical nightclub.

    From December 1 through December 14, 2018, Steve Coleman and Five Elements will present a residency in Los Angeles. The primary location of activities will be the Blue Whale in downtown Los Angeles.

    There will be frequent performances and at the Blue Whale, and also other locations in the Los Angeles area. There will also be outreach activities mostly done in the Southern California area.
